What’s wrong with FREE email?
Well, you might think that we’re going to say a whole bunch of stuff just because we are trying to sell you email services. Sure but not just anything. Our email services are selling just fine because we provide excellent customer service and Secure Simple eMail at an exceptionally low cost, but yes, there are some compelling reasons why you should use our services over so-called free email services.
Why should I pay for email when I can get Google Mail for Free?
(or Hotmail, outlook.com, yahoo, AOL, or many other free email services including your ISPs free email)
This is a question asked on the website https://www.cc-computers.com/news and you can read the full article there. We have summarised it here for you.
We believe that if you use email for business then you must use a professional looking email address. We know that many companies that mostly supply to other businesses will not accept any of the free email addresses to use their services, so you could be preventing yourself from getting the best deals by using one. Another big reason for people not allowing them, is the fact that fraudsters use them, so someone who signs up with one likely to be someone signing up in order to rip the seller off.
With your own domain name you can have your own email address and you can use a domain name with your SecuredMail.App account as well. This makes it very portable as well as looking professional.
Another issue with Free email is the fact that they own the domain name, and therefore your email address, and there is nothing you can do about it. If they go out of business, or decide that they want to start charging then you only have two options, pay-up or leave. These are of course the least of your worries. If you use your eMail for work then you could fall foul of the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 because you may well have personal data in your account. You cannot control that data when you give the free email company an unlimited license to do as they please with your data and your customer’s data
Alphabet, Googles parent company is the third biggest in the world, which they do with the help of free services. Who knows what they do with your data, but since you let them do anything they like, you are not likely to find out. Below is a summary of Google’s term and conditions:
By using their services you give Google and anyone else they want, UNLIMITED LICENSE TO USE, MODIFY, RESELL, AND ANYTHING ELSE THEY WANT WITH ALL YOUR DATA. Yes every email you send or receive, they can use, including the attachments to do whatever they want with. If you send your latest play or movie script using or receive it in your Gmail account, you allow them to use it as they want. They can take your idea, change it and make the movie themselves. They don’t even need to change it as you gave them unrestricted license to do as they please.
You can read the full Terms and Conditions here: https://policies.google.com/terms?gl=UK&hl=en
Here is the extract that you should read in full.
When you upload, submit, store, send or receive content to or through our Services, you give Google (and those we work with) a worldwide license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works (such as those resulting from translations, adaptations or other changes we make so that your content works better with our Services), communicate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute such content. The rights you grant in this license are for the limited purpose of operating, promoting, and improving our Services, and to develop new ones. This license continues even if you stop using our Services (for example, for a business listing you have added to Google Maps). Some Services may offer you ways to access and remove content that has been provided to that Service. Also, in some of our Services, there are terms or settings that narrow the scope of our use of the content submitted in those Services. Make sure you have the necessary rights to grant us this license for any content that you submit to our Services.
Once you read that it is difficult to see why anyone would use a free email account again.

The good thing is that they now let you retain ownership of your data but you have to give over a right for them to do as they please with it, which you cannot take back. Years ago Hotmail made it part of their terms and conditions that anything stored in your account belonged to them, this was not very popular so they got around it by saying that you owned it but you give them a right to use it. Not much better then.
We provide you with SecuredMail.App accounts from £2.00 Inc vat per month use one instead of a free account and keep yourself and customers or family and friends safe.
